Nature’s Seat
As the curtain comes down
the shadows fall
on end of day dew ground
the crickets call
slow in the early evening
summer night time seasoning.
I take my seat by the fire
and contemplate the stars
I recall the day’s desire
a silent witness from afar
glowing bright in the dark sky
with a smile and gentle sigh.
Another day spent in the wild
it’s nature’s seat I need
to become a newborn child
a germ of hope a growing seed
stepping out of my crowded mind
a world so young now growing kind.
