Light & Shadow at the Alhambra
James Molloy is a retired history teacher from the Hudson Valley in New York now living in Boise, Idaho. A life long photo-enthusiast, he is now able to pursue his passion for photography full time. James is a member of the Greene County Camera Club and the Greene County Council of the Arts. He has exhibited work at the Athens Cultural Center, the Blue Hill Gallery, Columbia Greene Community College, the Spencertown Gallery, the Western Idaho State Fair and the Columbia County Council of the Arts. In addition, his work has been displayed in local business establishments. James has recently joined the Treasure Valley Camera Club and the Boise Camera Club in Idaho. He maintains gallery pages on 500px (500px.com/jmolloy) and Instagram (jamesmolloyphoto). In his photography, James creates images that tell a story, elicit an emotional response and provoke thoughtful interpretation. His photographs often suggest a somber mood and a slightly distorted reality through the application of textures, filters and toning. To that end, many of his photographs on this site are accompanied by interpretive poetry that can be found in the POETRY section. The poems afford the viewer another opportunity to interact with the photograph. All of the poems are original. His portfolio includes extensive travel photography, scenic Hudson Valley and Idaho Landscapes, and a variety of creative and monotone images. Additional information on each photograph (including camera settings), as well as which photographs have accompanying poetry, can be found in the appropriate categories. If the poem you are looking for is not featured, simply type in the title on the POETRY Section's search bar.
