Come What May

Come what may

On a shallow field of gray.

The lover’s bow snaps,

A shaft of light so bright.

I turn to the sky

To watch my sorrow fly

Away above the clouds,

Fading from view

And my memory.

A once piercing wound

That split the night

And broke my heart.

Now a subtle curve

That bends back my mind

To a happier time.
